Literature is full of fictional vacation destinations we wish we could visit! Take this literary quiz to find your perfect vacation spot–in a book! You don’t need a passport to go there…just a library card.

Vacations based on famous fictional places

What if there was a vacation rental site where you could book trips to all of your favorite settings in novels? Wouldn’t that be a book lover’s dream come true?! I would love to spend a week (or a month, or a year…) in Rivendell or any number of literary destinations.

Well, just for fun I created this quiz to help you find the best fictional place to visit on your next fictional vacation. I wish they were real, but you can get to them in books, at least! (And actually, some of them are based on real locations.)

Happy travels!

  1. My quiz ended with the Nile River Cruise which is really awesome since I actually want to go there. And I’ve never read anything by Agatha Christie, so this should be fun.

  2. Avonlea for me! A perfect place for my daughters and myself. We have read all the books. Time to start over:)

  3. I got “Rivendell All-Inclusive Resort”, which suits me PERFECTLY. Totally on point. Good work. And I actually have yet to read anything from Tolkien 😱 I am a huge fan of the movies though.

    1. Awesome! Thank you so much for taking the quiz, and I’m glad you enjoyed it! The original Rings trilogy movies are wonderful, and I’m so glad you concur. The books are very much worth reading; so much wisdom in them, and pure adventure, and there are LOTS of scenes, places, and characters that didn’t make it into the movies…it’s pretty interesting!

  4. I got The Nile River Cruise but my taste in vacations and taste in books are not compatible in this fashion. Avonlea and Rivendell are favorites.
